To the one who was brought up in the Temple, in the Holy of Holies, to the one who was clothed in faith and wisdom and measureless virginity, Gabriel the Chief Captain offered the greeting from heaven and his Hail: Hail, blessed one! Hail, glorified one! The Lord is with you.

Unable to praise you worthily because you are higher than every creature we beg you, Mother of God, freely have mercy on us.

On Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

At, God is the Lord.

Now to God''s Mother let us humble sinners run in haste * and in repentance let us fall down before her feet, * crying aloud with fervour from the depths of our souls, * ''Sovereign Lady, help us now, * have compassion upon us, * hasten, for we perish * from our many offences. * Let not your servants go empty away; * we have you as our only hope''.

On Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

Show your servant your swift protection and assistance and your mercy, and calm the waves of vain thoughts, and raise up my fallen soul, pure Mother of God. For I know, I know that all that you wish you can also perform.

All-holy Mother of God, the wall of Christians, hasten to deliver your people, who as always cry to you insistently: Be arrayed in battle against base and boastful thoughts, that we may cry to you: Hail Ever-Virgin!

By the Cross of your Son, all the error of the idols came to an end, and the might of the demons was trampled down, O Lady full of grace. Therefore we the faithful dutifully ever extol you and bless you, and we confess you to be Theotokos, literally the Mother of God, and we magnify you.

The marvelous mystery involving the Virgin proved to be the means of universal salvation. You were born of her without being sown, and You suffered no decay in the flesh. You are the Joy of all. Glory to You, O Lord.

Gabriel''s salutation of the Virgin was the beginning of our salvation. For she heard him say, Rejoice, and did not reject the greeting. * She did not hesitate, like Sarah in the tent, but rather this is what she said, * "Behold the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word."

You accepted the word of the Archangel, and you became a cherubic throne. O Theotokos, you held in your arms the hope of our souls.

On Monday evening and Tuesday morning.

At, God is the Lord.

You are the good hope of the world, O Virgin Theotokos. * Therefore we beg for only your awe-inspiring protection. * Take pity on a people left with no defense. * Insistently supplicate our merciful God, * O only blessed Lady, to deliver our souls * from all impending danger.

No one who has recourse to you goes from your presence put to shame and rejected, O Mother of God, pure Virgin, but asking for grace they receive gifts and benefits most advantageous to the plea they make.

On Tuesday evening and Wednesday morning.

O Virgin Theotokos, entreat your Son, Christ our God, who voluntarily was nailed to the Cross, and freed the world from deception; and pray Him to have mercy on our souls.

O Lady holy and pure, as our God''s blessed Mother, * you ineffably gave birth to the Creator of all. * We beseech you to join the sacred Apostles in imploring His goodness every day, * to deliver us from passions and grant us forgiveness of sins.

You have surpassed the Powers of heaven, for you have become the Temple of God, O blessed Theotokos, by giving birth to Christ, the Savior of our souls.

We say to you, Rejoice, Virgin Theotokos. * You were shown to be superior to Angels * for you gave birth to God.

At the prayers of the Mother of God, make peaceful the lives of us who cry to you: Merciful Lord, glory to you!

Christ our God was crucified for us, and He brought down the dominion of death. O Virgin Theotokos, unceasingly entreat Him to save our souls.

The fruit of your womb, Immaculate, is the fulfilment of the Prophets and the Law; and so as we glorify you with knowledge as Mother of God we devoutly magnify you.

The fruit of your womb, O Bride of God, was shown to be the cause of salvation for humans; and so, glorifying you as Mother of God with mind and tongue, we faithful magnify you.

Mother of God, rescue us from the sins that hold us fast; because we faithful have no other hope but you, and God who was born from you.

As the treasure-house of our Resurrection, All-praised Lady, bring up from the pit and from the deep of offences those who have put their trust in you; for you saved those who were subject to sin by giving birth to Salvation. You were Virgin before bearing child, Virgin in bearing child and after bearing child you are still Virgin.

Rejoice, O Maiden who contained within your womb the One whom heaven cannot contain. Rejoice, O Virgin, the Prophets'' proclamation; through you Emmanuel has shone forth. Rejoice, O Mother of Christ our God.

Rejoice, O Maiden, who through an Angel received the Joy of the world! Rejoice, O Virgin who gave birth to your Creator and Lord! Rejoice! for you were counted worthy to become the Mother of God.

Rejoice, O Gate of the King of glory! Only the Most High passed through you, and you alone He preserved sealed, for the salvation of our souls.

O Believers, let us magnify the Theotokos in hymns. She is the unshakable support of the Faith, and the venerable gift to our souls. "Rejoice! for in your womb you contained the Rock of life. Rejoice! as the hope of all the earth, and the help of those in trouble! Rejoice, O unwedded Bride!"
